Gilroyd House is a stunning and spacious stone built Georgian house in the heart of Robin Hood's Bay. Situated above New Road, Gilroyd House is perfectly located for beachcombing, cliffside walks and kicking back and relaxing.
Set over 3 floors, the cottage will accommodate a maximum of 6 people in 3 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and separate living and dining areas as well as a fully equipped galley kitchen.

Gilroyd House is a stunning and spacious stone built Georgian house in the heart of Robin Hood's Bay. Situated above New Road, Gilroyd House is perfectly located for beachcombing, cliffside walks and kicking back and relaxing.
Set over 3 floors, the cottage will accommodate a maximum of 6 people in 3 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and separate living and dining areas as well as a fully equipped galley kitchen.
First Floor:
Enter Gilroyd House from 13 stone steps leading up from New Road into a small porch area. To the right is the living area with a large leather sofa, perfect for the whole family to lounge on together. For the nights spent in the cottage is a flat screen TV with a DVD player and a selection of DVD’s to choose from. There is a chair perfectly positioned by the window overlooking New Road, perfect for watching the world go by. A feature fireplace and a large unit housing a great selection of books complete the room.
To the left of the small porch area is the dining area with a large dining room table to comfortably sit 6 people, built in wall unit for storage and a small bench for extra seating. The Dining area leads into the galley kitchen equipped with electric fan oven and electric hob, slimline dishwasher, washing machine, standalone fridge and freezer, as well as all the essentials such as a microwave and toaster and enough crockery for everyone. The kitchen is complete with a lovely Belfast sink and solid wood worktop.
Second Floor:
Stairs lead up to the first-floor landing and to the bedrooms. The master bedroom is a rather spacious bedroom with an en-suite facility including a shower, WC and wash basin. There is a chest of drawers for storage and matching bedside tables.
The second double bedroom is across the landing and has a feature fireplace, chest of drawers for storage and matching bedside tables. The main family bathroom next door has a large shower, wash basin and WC.
Third Floor:
Here comes the magic bit, you can access the third floor from two staircases each leading to a different part of the house. The first staircase next to the master bedroom leads up to the children’s playroom. There is a large TV with a DVD player, bean bag chair and a great selection of children’s books and DVD’s.
The other staircase next to the second bedroom on the floor below leads to the twin single bedroom. Beautifully decorated, this room contains 2 full size single beds with a chest of drawers for storage. Both side of the top floor are separated by a ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom with a small bath, wash basin and WC and can be accessed by both sides.
Gilroyd House has full gas central heating throughout the property. Bed linen and towels are provided for guests.

Fantastic cottage with plenty of space in a very good location, only a five minute walk to the beach. Booking with Baytown holiday cottages couldn’t be any easier, we’ll definitely be using them for all our future trips to Bay. Thanks Sam for all your help.
Excellent family cottage which is thoughtfully laid out and decorated. Well placed in the bay for the beach and local businesses. Great local walks on your doorstep including Whitby and Ravenscar. Plenty of local eateries and takeaways, we particularly enjoyed the meal we had in Brambles Bistro. Sam and Sian made the whole process easy from beginning to end.I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking to holidaying in the bay.
This was our second stay time staying in Robin Hood's Bay with Baytown Cottages and yet again we had another fantastic stay. Gilroyd house sits above a small parade of cafes/shops and extends into the sky being 3 storeys tall above that. Even though underneath you there are commercial properties, you can't hear or are made aware of it and the cottage was very peaceful.The stairs are a bit steep leading up to the front door, but once inside there is everything you need for your holiday. All the beds were comfortable and well equipped with bedding and pillows, everywhere was clean and tidy and there were really good touches like umbrellas, dvd's to watch, books to read and plenty of toys and games for the kids. The little bay window looking over the street was definitely the most coveted spot to sit in, and listening to the brook at night was very relaxing. Sam as usual was great at giving me lots of information prior to visiting and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.
We loved the house, it is a fantastic place. So much space for 6 people. Lounge, dining room and bedrooms are a really good size. Its situation is perfect, right in the middle of RHB, with shops, bars and restaurants within very easy reach. The sea is roughly 100m away. We will definitely be back.
We had a lovely few days - lucky with the weather so lots of walks on the beach:) spacious , clean , well equipped ( our girls older but amazing stock of toys in the loft playroom for young ones) would highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Have been visiting RHB for many years and just love it, Gilroyd House has a fabulous location in the lower bay, which is where we prefer to stay. The house is nice, beds are comfortable. Exceptional with 3 bathrooms, including an amazing roll top bath. Also dog friendly which for us is a must, even had raised dog bowls! For a holiday home it suited us all well.
