Fisherhead car park is privately-owned in the lower village of Robin Hoods Bay
You cannot park without a permit*
If your cottage stay has a Fisherhead parking permit please collect it from the cottage
Display the permit in your car on the dashboard for the duration of your stay
Return the permit to the cottage before departing
Lost permits cannot be replaced
To find Fisherhead car park, drive down the bank into the lower village
Continue past the Laurel Inn on the left and Muir Lea Stores to the right
Take the first right turn and continue straight into Fisherhead car park
*Please note, camper vans & mid-sized panel vans (Transporter, Vivaro, Transit etc) are not permitted in the car park
There are two SBC council owned car parks in the upper village located opposite The Victoria Hotel and the Grosvenor Hotel
Both are pay and display usually from 1st March to 31st October and the Winter months free of charge - this is at the discretion of SBC & could be subject to change
SBC pay and display tickets can be used in any SBC car park
You can also purchase a pass from Baytown Stores for 2 days or more
If your cottage has a Parking Permit please collect this from the cottage
Display the permit in your car on the dashboard for the duration of your stay
Return the permit to the cottage before departing
The Pay & Display car parks now also operate on the Ringo App
Download the Ringo App & input yours, your cars and payment details (before your arrival if possible)

You may be required to display a Blue Disc Clock in on street parking bays throughout Whitby & Scarborough
Blue disc clocks are available from Tourist Information Centres and local shops
The disc must display the time of arrival and once the parking time has expired your vehicle removed and not returned for the duration stated

There are few places to unload in the lower village of Robin Hood’s Bay
Going down into the lower village you can unload on the right of the hill
It is also possible to pull in outside Muir Lea Stores
You can also unload in the Dock
Traffic Wardens do operate in the village so do not leave your car unattended
Please unload as quickly as possible allowing room for other vehicles to pass to help reduce the risk of disruption

Please remember to bring your own cot bedding
Cottages that state No Babies this is for fire safety due to the lack of space and to allow adequate space to access and exit a bedroom
Where towels are provided it is usually one bath sheet and one hand towel per person stated on the booking form
If you feel you will need more please remember to bring additional towels with you
You will need to provide your own beach towels

When smoking outside the property please consider neighbouring properties and please extinguish cigarettes fully and dispose of them in a considerate manner

Most properties do not provide pet accessories like towels, feeding bowls, beds and furniture throws so we advise you bring your own
Pets must remain on the lower floor(s) or in general living areas
Please do not allow your pet in the bedrooms or on the beds
Please do not leave your pet alone or unattended in the property
For properties where pets are not accepted:
It can not be expected that no pets have been in the property
Some owners may bring their own dogs or allow their friends dogs in their property
Apologies as we cannot guarantee that a property will be free of pet allergens

Where a Log Burner or Open Fire is available generally fuel is not provided (otherwise stated in the property description)
Coal, logs, matches and firelighters are all available from the local stores: Muir Lea Stores, Station Road Stores and Thorpe Stores
Please do not leave hot fires and coals unattended
Cool fires before disposing of ash
Use fireguards where available
Please do not cover electric heaters or leave them on when out of the property

Due to the nature of the village and the thickness of the walls in Robin Hoods Bay Wi-fi may not be available in all parts of the property or outside areas

Mobile telephone reception can be poor in Robin Hoods Bay and surrounding areas however it is possible to get 4G & 3G in many places
Green Bags are for General waste and collected every other week on a Wednesday or Thursday
Blue Bags are for Recycling and collected the opposite week to Green Bags on a Wednesday or Thursday

Orange Bags are for all waste (Sorted by Scarborough Borough Council) and are a paid for service collected every week on a Wednesday or Thursday
Where external bins are available please remove internal waste bags to the external bins
Please do not put Black or White bin liners in the external bins as the Waste Removal service will not collect them
Please do not put waste or recycling directly in bins as this will also not be collected all waste must be bagged
If you have excess waste or No External Bins please take your rubbish to the Bin Chutes on Albion Road
Please do not leave exposed bin bags on the street as they will attract and be torn apart by wildlife, most commonly Badgers and Seagulls
There are no cash machines in Robin Hoods Bay, Fylingthorpe or the neighbouring villages. Sainsburys supermarket is the closest cash machine. There are many cash machines in the centre of Whitby.
Some pubs may offer cash back however there is usually a minimum spend of £10 in many when paying by card
Baytown Stores in the upper village of Robin Hoods Bay offers a cash back service
You may also be able to make cash withdrawals from your Bank at the post office
There are no supermarkets in Robin Hood’s Bay. There are supermarkets situated in Whitby which is a 6-mile drive away
