Parking In Robin Hood’s Bay

Fisherhead Car Park

Fisherhead car park is privately-owned in the lower village of Robin Hoods Bay

You cannot park without a permit*

If your cottage stay has a Fisherhead parking permit please collect it from the cottage

Display the permit in your car on the dashboard for the duration of your stay

Return the permit to the cottage before departing

Lost permits cannot be replaced

To find Fisherhead car park, drive down the bank into the lower village

Continue past the Laurel Inn on the left and Muir Lea Stores to the right

Take the first right turn and continue straight into Fisherhead car park

*Please note, camper vans & mid-sized panel vans (Transporter, Vivaro, Transit etc) are not permitted in the car park

Scarborough Borough Council Parking in Upper Robin Hood's Bay

There are two SBC council owned car parks in the upper village located opposite The Victoria Hotel and the Grosvenor Hotel

Both are pay and display usually from 1st March to 31st October and the Winter months free of charge - this is at the discretion of SBC & could be subject to change

SBC pay and display tickets can be used in any SBC car park

You can also purchase a pass from Baytown Stores for 2 days or more

If your cottage has a Parking Permit please collect this from the cottage

Display the permit in your car on the dashboard for the duration of your stay

Return the permit to the cottage before departing

The disc must display the time of arrival and once the parking time has expired your vehicle removed and not returned for the duration stated

Unloading in Robin Hood’s Bay

There are few places to unload in the lower village of Robin Hood’s Bay

Going down into the lower village you can unload on the right of the hill

It is also possible to pull in outside Muir Lea Stores

You can also unload in the Dock

Traffic Wardens do operate in the village so do not leave your car unattended

Please unload as quickly as possible allowing room for other vehicles to pass to help reduce the risk of disruption

Please do not put waste or recycling directly in bins as this will also not be collected all waste must be bagged

If you have excess waste or No External Bins please take your rubbish to the Bin Chutes on Albion Road

Please do not leave exposed bin bags on the street as they will attract and be torn apart by wildlife, most commonly Badgers and Seagulls

There are no cash machines in Robin Hoods Bay, Fylingthorpe or the neighbouring villages. Sainsburys supermarket is the closest cash machine. There are many cash machines in the centre of Whitby.

Some pubs may offer cash back however there is usually a minimum spend of £10 in many when paying by card

You may also be able to make cash withdrawals from your Bank at the post office
