About Us

We are Baytown Holiday Cottages and we have been bringing you spaces to relax by the sea here in Robin Hood’s Bay since April 2017.

We believe in being the small independent Booking Agency that we are. Just two local people Sam and Sian, two Pugs Lilly and Eddie and Bella our Citroen Berlingo Van. Providing rich local knowledge and personal service to our customers is very much at the forefront of who we are. Our customers being both cottage owners and holiday makers alike. The second homeowner, the multi property owner, the more local homeowner and overseas homeowner. The vacationer, the staycationer and the microgapper. The dog lovers, the big celebrationers and the adventurers. Our aim is to help you relax and unwind on the North Yorkshire Coast.

We specialise in Holiday Cottages in Robin Hood’s Bay, perched on the coastal edge of the North York Moors National Park. A once old fishing village steeped in a rich history of smuggling.

The National park is quite literally our home, our workplace and our playground. We have nothing but a deep love and awe for the Heather Moorland and dramatic coastline that surrounds us.

We started our little business because we loved what we did but we were tired, frustrated and fed up. We were desperate to spread our wings, so spread them we did. Here we are today bringing you our knowledge and experience and we have never looked back. Filled full of nothing but love for what we have created we are by no means a closed book. We have so much room to grow.

But how did we end up here?

Sam moved to Whitby as a lad. Worked for his parent’s businesses in Robin Hood’s Bay picking up the ropes. There are quite possibly only one or two cottages he hasn’t been in. Went travelling Down Under and to New Zealand. Came back worked in the local pubs, worked for his parents and met a lass.

Sian worked in Hospitality and Catering, began teaching one to one in Hospitality and Catering. Sian worked teaching all over Lancashire and Yorkshire. Met a lad in Robin Hood’s Bay and moved to Whitby.

Sam and Sian saved for a house. Sam left the pubs and worked for a local booking agency full time. Sian left Teaching and worked with Sam full time. They left. Sam and Sian set up their own Booking Agency and Cleaning Company. They bought a Van, a Pug Puppy called Lilly, then Eddie Lilly’s brother.

The rest is history.

Tiny Updates

In October 2023 we had to say the hardest and saddest goodbye to our beautiful little Pug Lilly Lou. She became so terribly poorly in a very short space of time and at such a young age too. Even now we are still getting used to life without and she is missed every day.

Important Updates

We are very new to considering and reviewing our impact on Accessible Tourism and Sustainable Tourism. We hope you will support us as we learn. We will continue to provide you with new Accessibility Information and what we are doing to help contribute to Sustainable Tourism.
