Ground Floor:
The main entrance door to Fishermans Cottage leads straight into the spacious kitchen area. The modern kitchen is complete with a built in electric fan oven, 4 ring electric hob with extractor fan, an under-counter fridge with a freezer compartment, microwave, 2 slice toaster, kettle and a lovely Belfast sink with drainer along with a good selection of utensils, pans and crockery. There is a dining table for 5 people to enjoy home cooked meals. Although modern, the kitchen retains like the rest of the house that cosy cottage feeling
First Floor:
A staircase with glass portholes leads up to the first floor living room. A large part of the doors and panelling are believed to come from old shipwrecks giving the feeling of a ships cabin. There is a 2-seater brown leather sofa, a brown leather armchair and an additional armchair. The living room is finished nicely with a large window seat complete with cosy cushions and throws. The perfect spot for observing the goings on in the dock area. A wooden unit contains board games and a selection of books. A flat screen TV with Freeview and a multi fuel stove complete the set up for a cosy night in.
Second Floor:
A further staircase from the corner of the living room leads to the second-floor landing. The first door leads into the crisp white light and airy master bedroom with exposed ceiling beams. There is a metal framed double bed, a white chest of drawers and bedside table lamps. The window overlooks the dock area. At the far end of the landing you will find the modern bathroom with WC, bath with an overhead shower, wash basin and heated towel rail.
Third Floor attic room:
A very steep staircase leads from the second-floor landing into the attic bedroom. There are 2 full size single beds and a double bed as well as a slim chest of drawers, hanging space for clothes and an additional Velux window.

Perfect break in my favourite cottage in my favourite place. Thanks Sam & Sian for everything you do to make my stays so special x
Nothing is too much trouble for sam or sian they always make sure everything is perfect even down to it being my sons birthday this year the day we arrived we opened the door to balloons and banners which is such a personal touch .The cottage is perfect location and fully fitted with everything you need for a home from home holiday
We discovered RHB, during a 2021 holiday to Sleights and fell in love with the place. I can't honestly think of anywhere else we would want to be. This was our second stay, since then and we'll be back in August, it's just the most perfect place. We discovered Baytown Holiday Cottages and picked Fishermans Cottage as it allowed 2 dogs. Location is perfect, metres from the beach, next door to the Bay Hotel, across the road from the Smugglers. What more could you ask for.The cottage itself, is almost perfect. Spread over 4 floors but being a very old property, this means the stairs are pretty steep, in particular to the top floor bedroom. It has just about all the ammenities you would need, which all seemed to work, although we couldn't vouch for the TV, as there was far too much to do, it didn't get a look in. The window seat, in the lounge was our personal highlight. When we were in the cottage, that's where we sat to watch the village go by. The only negative in terms of th ecottage, if you can call it that, is that the kitchen is very dark. The lighting is biased towards one side and could be improved, significantly, by repositioning the overhead lights. As for Baytown themselves, all of the pre-holiday communication was spot on and we had no issues what so ever, during the course of the holiday, that needed us to contact them. So 10/10.
Excellent, personal service from Sam and Siân. Cottage was clean and welcoming for our arrival. A well resourced cottage with the best window in the lounge to sit and watch the comings and goings of the dock. Always a pleasure to support a local company, who are experts in what they do!
We have stayed in several of Baytown cottages and each one has its own quirky character of a typical fishermans cottage. Always well presented and clean. A pleasure to liase with Sam who makes an effort to go that extra mile to make our stay extra special. Thankyou so much
My family stayed at the cottage. 2 adults and 3 children. Plus the dog. As I mentioned to Sam, we have stayed at Fisherman’s cottage before. Way back in the Mrs Shrimpton days! It’s certainly improved since then. The location is superb. 6.30 in the morning everyone barefoot on the beach walking the dog pre breakfast. After breakfast we all went to the beach, the 4 children with us all in the sea, building sandcastles.., wonderful. Tide comes in so off we go to Boggle Hole. My daughters and family in the cottage have all said they’d like to come back next year for a long weekend in June. Maybe Thursday to Tuesday? I’d love some prices if possible, please. Thank you, Sam for all your help in making our short stay so great.
Super stay at Fisherman’s cottage. What is there not to love when you are situated practically next door to 2 great pubs, The Bay and Smugglers. Great food and real ale at both. Also next door to a super little bistro. Fantastic walks along the coast both ways. Coastal path to Whitby ( bus back!). Only used the car once to visit Staines.Love Robin Hoods Bay and will return soon I hope.
Had a fabulous time - walked, ate, drank, slept, read and just relaxed! Perfect spot to do it! Such a gorgeous area and we're looking forward to returning.Loved the cottage and I'm already recommending it to friends. It's quirky with a comfortable living room and bedroom, and loved all the lounge and bedroom decor, perfect location, it was quiet inside even when the streets were crowded. Particularly loved the chair and footstool - I read and napped on there nearly every day!Little bit of less positive feedback and these are only our personal opinions... The bath didn't feel totally safe to shower in due to the steep end and slippy surface. We managed fine but felt we had to be super careful. Also, though we absolutely adored the wallpaper in the kitchen, it was so gloomy we didn't like spending time down there. The darkness mean we couldn't see where we were cleaning and it wasn't a comfortable place to be. Thanks for looking after us, particularly where the scaffolding was concerned. It felt lovely and personal and we felt like we could have asked for anything if we'd needed something. See you again soon, we hope!
We have just got back from a great week in Robin Hoods Bay and we stayed in Old Fisherman's Cottage which is situated in the dock area of the Bay.We have stayed there many times and love it's quirkiness and the fact you are literally seconds from the beach , ice cream shop and lovely bars and restaurants. The cottage , beach and bars are dog friendly which is a must for us and Sam and Sian are brilliant nothing is too much trouble and will help with anything needed they really look after you and that's why we always go back to them.Robin Hood's Bay is a very special place once you've been you won't be able to stay away
We have stayed in this fabulously quirky cottage before and love the history behind it. It is always beautifully clean with all essentials provided and a very cosy environment. The shower is very powerful, the bedding crisp and the cottage is warm much needed for January days. Highly recommend booking with this company as they will go out of their way to ensure you have a lovely stay
Location fantastic right at the bottom of the bay. Steep staircase to the extremely spacious attic bedroom Bathroom could do with having just a large shower instead of a shower over the bath for ease but adequate facilities all round.A very cosy house and the log burner is an added bonus esp with the weather we had over Christmas..lovely accommodation good for short stays
Fisherman's cottage was great, clean, warm, well equipped. R H B is one of the best places I've visited. Can't wait to go back
Fisherman's cottage was, for us, situated in a perfect position in the village. Just a few steps from the beach, ideal for viewing the spectacular sunrises. Inside, we loved the feeling of being on board a 17th century ship in the lounge and on the staircase! The decor and soft furnishings are tastefully chosen to keep the feel of this place.Always an absolute pleasure to stay in any of Baytown's cottages with the friendly and professionalservice they give.
Wow! Another lovely relaxing break in this pretty, centrally located cottage. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped, it’s just perfect for easy access to the beach, pub and just sitting outside , watching the world go by. It’s also a great base for walking and exploring the area. There is always something to discover about the village , and we have recently visited the Bay Museum in the old Coroners Court and Mortuary. This has just re opened and provides a fascinating insight into the history of the village. We’ve had such a great time, feel totally refreshed and will definitely book again with Sam and Sian @ Baytown Holiday cottages.
After researching several letting agents for cottages in Robin Hoods Bay last year we decided to book through Baytown Holiday Cottages, and we have stopped in 3 different cottages from their portfolio now and each one has been just delightful! The standards of cleanliness in each cottage are very high and consistent, this is very important during these difficult times. We have booked to return again soon and that is testament to the confidence we have in Sam and Sian, the owners of Baytown Holiday Cottages .Fisherman’s cottage, our most recent cottage has a fabulous location, in the lower village and just a few yards from the pub, the ice cream shop and the slipway to the beach. The cottage is very well equipped and extremely comfortable and after long walks in the surrounding countryside we happily spent our evenings at the cottage, it feels really homely. We booked our car in at Fisherhead carpark, and having driven down to unload our belongings outside the cottage, we parked it up, This worked really well, but must be booked in advance .Robin Hoods Bay is a beautiful little village, that is a joy to explore. Little artisan shops and tea rooms and stunning sitting areas give the place a really special feel. We just love the place, and even after all our visits still love to wander the cobbled walkways round the village and also just sit and watch the world go by with a pint at the pub . We can’t wait to return to Robin Hoods Bay and Fishermans Cottage again next month.
Clean quirky cottage in the heart of things. People made us feel welcome. We would recommend today anyone
That was magical and well worth the wait due to COVID continually messing our plans. Communication was really good with Sam and Fisherman’s Cottage was such an enchanting place to stay within Robin Hood’s Bay. Can’t recommend this experience enough and we can’t wait to come back!
As ever, coming over to RHB is always a huge looked forward to event, even more so following the past 6 months. Fisherman’s Cottage is absolutely fantastic in all ways. Sam and Sian always ensure everything is perfect and set up so that you get the home from home feeling as soon as you step through the door. The location is great, either straight onto the beach or a quick beer or two at the Bay Hotel or simply being able to people watch from the window seat in the lounge. Already looking forward to coming back over soon.
We’ve been coming to the bay for many many years now, and this quirky little cottage is in a great location. Warm, cosy and comfortable, we would have loved to stay longer. Would definitely book this one again.
The house was very quirky, clean and in a great location, would definitely book again, Sam was really helpful with any queries.
