Property Description

Sunnyside Cottage is a traditional fisherman’s cottage situated on Sunnyside in the lower village of Robin Hood’s Bay.

It’s perfectly located just a minute long walk to the beach. Come out of the door, down Tyson’s Steps, onto New Road where you’ll find an array of restaurants, down the dock and you’re on the beach.

Sunnyside has two bedrooms and can accommodate up to four people in one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, both with stunning sea views, and an outdoor seating area.

We very much welcome dogs and accept two small to medium dogs (Cocker Spaniel or smaller) or one larger dog such as a Labrador.

Ground Floor:

The ground floor is open plan with a lounge, dining area and kitchen.

You’ll find a comfy sofa and armchair and a pine coffee table which if you lift the lid up you’ll find is filled with games and activities to enjoy during your stay.

There’s a 32 inch flat screen TV, a log burning stove, and dining table and chairs.

And for our canine guests, a raised feeding station with two bowls, a dog lead station for all your pet’s accessories, a treat jar and a ‘borrow box’ filled with toys and accessories.

The kitchen has a ceramic hob, built-in electric fan oven, microwave, built-in fridge with a small freezer compartment.

Inside the cupboards are trays with cutlery and utensils, along with a range of glassware, crockey and pans.

Open the door under the stairs to a storage cupboard for coats, bags, shoes, and items you might need for a day on the beach, plus outdoor cushions for the bench outside.

First Floor:

The twin bedroom is on the first floor with two full size single beds, a small chest of drawers, bedside lamp and hooks and hangers on the wall for your clothes.

There’s a traditional fireplace and two windows and the room is bright with sea views.

Inside of the bathroom is a full sized bath with overhead shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail. Plus storage for your toiletries and a window to ensure the room is ventilated

Second Floor:

The double bedroom is on the top floor with a dormer window giving a glorious view of the sea and the rooftops across the bay.

Enjoy a comfy double bed with bedside tables, lamps, a full length mirror and a large chest of drawers for storage.

In the landing area on the top floor is a bookshelf with a selection of books and magazines if you enjoy reading to relax.

Beds & Bedding:

Sunnyside cottage has two single beds in the twin room and a double bed in the top, attic room.

Bedding and throws are provided for each bed.

Towels:

Each guest will have a bath towel and hand towel and there is another hand towel and bath mat provided in the bathroom.

Outside:

Outside of the cottage is a bench to relax and enjoy the sea air, and cushions for this are provided in the storage cupboard on the ground floor.

Pets:

Sunnyside Cottage only accepts dogs as pet guests.

We welcome a maximum of two small to medium dogs (Cocker Spaniel or smaller) or one larger dog such as a Labrador, Dalmatian or Boxer.

This is due to the size of the cottage as we feel it would be unsuitable for a larger sized dog who may be used to more space.

We provide Dogrobes (dressing gowns) for your dog to use during your stay. These are for when you return to the cottage after a wet walk or a day on the beach.

They can be used to dry your dog and keep them warm, and also to protect the furniture from sand and mud, so please do use them and leave them in the cottage.

If your dog is wet or muddy, please do try to keep them downstairs and the bedroom doors closed until they are clean and dry, then they are welcome to go upstairs.

We provide a raised feeding station with two bowls for food and water, a dog lead station for leads, collars, walking bags and other accessories, a treat jar, a toy box with items you might need for your stay and a welcome pack.

You’ll find throws on all of the furniture along with two small, waterproof dog beds.

Dogs are allowed on all floors, including in the bedrooms. Do please supervise them on the stairs as they are steep, and allow them upstairs once they are clean and dry.

Storage:

Hooks to hang coats and bags are on the wall behind the front door.

Dog leads, jackets and bags can be stored on the dog lead station next to the window by the front door.

On the group floor, under the stairs, you’ll find a walk in the cupboard (watch your head!) with further space for storing shoes, boots, bags, coats and beach accessories, along with outdoor cushions for the bench at the front of the cottage.

Reviews

Fantastic little cottage only 1 minute from the beach. Well equipped throughout, although stairs are unavoidably steep. Lots to do in RHB.We went on lots of walks, both along beach (download the tide times!) and on the Cinder Track, which is the old Scarborough to Whitby railway line. It's about 6 miles RHB to Whitby, but there's the Windmill Inn after 4 miles for refreshments. Also went to the Folk Club at bottom bar of Bay Hotel, which is even closer to the cottage than the beach.Altogether a terrific place for a break

Lovely cottage and very dog-friendly but like all holidays not long enough! Robin Hood’s Bay is the place to get fit - that’s if you walk up that hill! Very friendly place with great cafes (Cove Inn for coffee and cannolis) and Brambles Bistro for wonderful evening meals.

I felt relaxed from the moment I got there. The cottage I stayed in was central, cosy and had everything I needed. I enjoyed walking along the beach and parts of the Cleveland Way. Everyone in RHB was very friendly and helpful and there are some lovely shops and places to eat
