In the heart of the old village of Robin Hood's Bay, this charming 16th Century cottage is only a minute's walk from the beach. Special care has been taken to choose colours and furnishings to enhance the warmth and welcome that this little home offers. The relaxing beamed sitting/dining room focuses on the large inglenook with gas stove. The newly fitted kitchen houses top of the range appliances including a dishwasher. Joyce Cottage comfortably sleeps 6 people in 3 lovely bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and sea views from the upper floors.
Ground floor:
The porch, with coat hooks and a boot rack, leads on to the freshly decorated beamed sitting/dining room. There is flat screen LG TV and a cupboard full of games, ideal for wet days and cosy nights in! A word of warning, the sofa is so comfortable you instantly relax and unwind and may find it difficult to move!
The custom made kitchen has been fitted with high quality units, sink/drainer, integral dishwasher, double oven with cooker hood, a built in 4 ring gas hob, microwave and a fridge with small ice box. The cupboards house an array of crockery, terrines and glassware. There is a good selection of pans in the ‘magic’ corner cupboard to the right of the double ovens and various cooking utensils, tea towels and cloths can be found in the drawer unit to the right of the fridge. We are sure that you will find everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
First floor
The lovely, light and welcoming bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom with WC and shower. Plenty of wardrobe and storage space for belongings. Next door a twin single room with twin single beds. One single bed hangs above the lower single bed in this lovely, snug area. A great selection of children's books makes this room the perfect hideaway.
The beautifully presented main bathroom consists of a bath with an overhead shower, sink and WC.
Second Floor
A light and spacious twin bedroom awaits you with 2 twin double beds. A very spacious bedroom with a small chest of drawers and bedside table in-between the beds. Exposed wooden beams can be seen across the bedroom and add to the charm of the cottage. There is also a feature fireplace and a small sofa/futon.
Outside
Joyce Cottage has a private patio across the path for guests to use during their stay.

We love the old fashioned fun, not spoilt by commercialised ‘tat’. Beach, ice cream and lovely independent shops. All dog friendly too!
Cottage is full of character! Great location. Had everything and more you need. Very clean. Private sun trap patio big bonus. Getting up early for a walk on the beach there was just my dog Nellie & I, it was gorgeous! Plenty of other lovely walks too. Atmosphere and food in the Bay brilliant. (Steak pie n chips best I’ve had) Would highly recommend staying here

Joyce Cottage is in a perfect location just behind The Smugglers and literally a one minute walk to the beach.Lovely comfy cottage with its own private garden which was a suntrap.Sam can't be helpful enough and the whole experience of booking with Baytown was painless.This is probably approaching our tenth time of booking with Sam and Sian and it won't be our last!!!

We had a Celebratory weekend family break staying in 3 houses.We stayed in Joyce CottageEveryone always ended up in Joyce cottages garden. It was so peaceful and weather was beautiful. We took fish n chips back to garden as only 2 minutes away.House was extremely clean and comfortable.We have been going to Robin Hoods Bay for 40 years and never stayed anywhere twice. We will definitely be back to Joyce cottage.
We had a lovely five days last week in Robin Hood's Bay, staying at the delightful Joyce Cottage. We found the cottage extremely clean and well equipped. We arrived on the Monday late afternoon to beautiful sunshine which stayed with us until the rain on Thursday afternoon. Visited the Bay Hotel and the Victoria at the top for meals, excellent for us and very covid friendly. Went to the Smugglers Inn on two nights for drinks what a lovely place. Thanks to Sian and Sam for your efficiency with the booking and to the people that sorted out the extra car parking space. Love from Christine and Malcolm and Susan and Allan.
Lovely cottage, really cosy and well equipped. Having such a sunny but quiet spot was amazing and the little patio garden was a huge bonus. Really handy location for popping down to the beach too. Robin Hood's Bay is always lovely and it was especially great to be back this year. Enjoyed walking and kite flying on the beach and the kids loved popping to the sweet shop. We'll definitely be booking this cottage again in the future!
We have been visiting RHB for short breaks for a number of years and have just returned from another much needed family break. The bay is such a unique and quaint place full of friendly and welcoming people. The perfect place to park up for a weekend and simply relax.This is the first time we have booked via Baytown Holiday Cottages and we will certainly do so again, they are extremely easy to deal with and the customer service provided by Sam was first class. Joyce Cottage is a lovely, dog friendly cottage in a brilliant location. We would definitely stay here again.
