An elegant Victorian villa in Robin Hood's Bay, Fernleigh is made for families, friends, and gatherings. The house sleeps up to twelve people, a maximum of ten adults and an additional two children. It includes 6 bedrooms comprising three en-suite double bedrooms, 1 en-suite twin room, plus a family suite consisting of double bedroom, children's bunk room and a private shower room. Fernleigh is one of the Bay's few large holiday properties where everyone can spread out in comfort with indoor and outdoor space a plenty. There is also off-street parking for 1 car and an additional small car and on street parking for a third when available.

Set on Mount Pleasant South in Upper Bay, the three south facing bedrooms look out across sweeping sea and bay views. Downstairs, double doors open onto a private, enclosed garden with large table, seating and a BBQ for making the most of warm summer evenings. Inside, you'll find a grand living room with a feature open fireplace and Smart TV (plus Nintendo Switch 2), a spacious dining room with log burner (with fuel to get you going), a fully equipped kitchen with modern Miele appliances all centred on a modern range cooker and a snug complete with an iMac with guest access. The rest of the house is sumptuously furnished with much of the furniture sourced from local Yorkshire craftsmen and period colours from Farrow and Ball.

Each bedroom is furnished with White Company duvets and pillows matched with Yorkshire-made soft furnishings from the Yorkshire Blanket Company. High-speed Wi-Fi, full gas central heating, an EV charger, and thoughtful touches from baby equipment to a dog-friendly space ensure every detail is covered.

The family of the owners of Fernleigh have holidayed in Robin Hood's Bay for over a century across five generations. They have worked to bring this grand three-storey villa to the rental market with care, keeping its Victorian character while adding the comforts you'd expect from a modern family home plus a few extra touches to make your stay special, all with a focus on local Yorkshire products.

A grand Victorian Villa big enough to bring everyone together, the six bedrooms, include a family suite with fun pirate themed bunk room for children. Fernleigh provides accommodation for up to twelve people altogether in which to eat, relax, and enjoy time together. The off-street parking for one car, an additional small car and a private (dog-friendly) enclosed garden for alfresco dining complement its grandeur.

Ground Floor Charm

Through the elegant front porch, step into a high-ceilinged hallway painted in rich period colours, complete with coat pegs, shoe storage and loan umbrellas. On the wall you'll find memories of Robin Hoods Bay during the railway era (when Fernleigh was built) along with artwork from local artists, all part of the owners' focus on Yorkshire and Robin Hood's Bay.

The living room is designed for gathering with comfy sofas, cosy bay window chairs, a 55" Smart TV with Nintendo Switch 2 and a feature open fireplace. Much of the furniture and textiles come from local Yorkshire craftsman, giving the room warmth and character. A place to curl up with a book found from the shelves, or play a board game.

The dining room is made for celebrations and coming together, a large bespoke table, log burner with everything you need for a fire, and a colour palette that makes it feel both intimate and grand.

Beyond the entrance hall, a snug doubles as an office, complete with iMac for those who want to "work from the Bay." Double doors open onto the private enclosed dog friendly garden, boasting plenty of seating for outdoor eating complete with modern BBQ.

And then to the kitchen, generous and spacious, centred around a modern range cooker, with breakfast bar and stools that make it a social hub plus everything you need for preparing meals during your stay with modern appliances from Miele and a high-end (Nespresso) Coffee machine from Sage, for making a flat white, latte or a hot chocolate. If you prefer, pop some of the Baytown Coffee from your welcome hamper into the cafetière and sit back and enjoy

Bedrooms & suites

On the first floor, two front bedrooms (a double and a twin) have views over the bay, while a second double sits quietly at the rear with its own access staircase from the snug. Every room has its own en-suite shower room for your comfort and convenience. Continue to the second floor to discover a family suite, a king-size double connected to a Pirate themed bunk room for children, complete with its own en-suite shower. A further double bedroom sits at the rear, again with private en-suite facilities. Children's books, a video baby monitor, a changing mat and a large travel cot are all provided for your stay keeping travelling with little ones that little lighter.

Comfort throughout

Fernleigh has been fully renovated with a full-pressure hot water system for powerful showers, full gas central heating, high-speed Wi-Fi throughout, and a private EV charger outside (free of charge). Bed linen and towels are included, and there's a downstairs WC for convenience.

The owners (and both of us here at Baytown Holiday Cottages) want you to feel at home the moment you arrive. On the kitchen counter you'll find a welcome hamper with Baytown Coffee, cake and biscuits small comforts after your journey, as well as something for your canine best friends.
