Reviews
We really love Robin Hoods Bay, and have stayed in the village a few times. Love exploring the quirky little streets and walks on the beach and fossil hunting! The cottage was very cosy and surprisingly spacious and comfortable. Just one thing to mention, the stairs are very narrow and steep, so you have to be reasonably agile. The village is well served with independent shops, Muir Lea stores, the Dinosaur exhibition shop, the Book shop to mention a few. We would recommend the Bay Hotel for an evening meal, but is very busy on a Saturday night! Or on a fine evening, the the Fish Box at the top of the hill for fish and chips and admire the view.
I booked this cottage break for my Daughter and partner to celebrate Her birthday and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay, The accomadation and location was idea for local convenances . The cottage was very clean and well equipped and beds very comfortable very much a home from home. The only bad point was my Daughter went there 37 yrs old and came home 38 yrs old..not happy
We LOVE the bay and have been coming since we were children. It is the most magical place to relax and unwind and we are loving being able to now share the magic with our own children.
Despite the dodgy weather we had another lovely break in Bay. We have stayed in quite a few dog friendly cottages here over the years but Sunny Place is up there with the best. Comfortable and cosy, decorated to a high standard, central village location and with everything you need to hand for a pleasant short break. The spacious bathroom has a powerful electric shower and towels are provided for your convenience. The heating is easy to control with a one button operation to keep the place nice and warm. The only negative from our perspective was a lack of outside space. We will definitely book this cottage again.
Friendly locals and great little cottage. Sam, Sian lovely little company always there to answer questions etc.Friendly locals and great little company. Lots of choices of cottages and different sizes to accommodate families. Locals are really friendly engaging with the customers in the different shops, pubs, cafes. Sam and Sian great team always on hand if needed. It's always nice to return to our happy place. Get for dogs and and each pub, cafe etc very dog friendly. Always have a great time can't wait till next visit. Thanks again Baytown Cottages. Julie and Shaun and of course Dally Nelson xx
Everything about our stay was amazing. The cottage was superb, fully equipped and on a superb location in the heart of downhill Robin Hoods Bay. All pubs and restaurants visited were superb and the area was full of friendly people having a rewarding time. Would highly recommend the area and especially 5 Sunny Place.
Magical for all ages - things to do separately or together. Exploring passageways in the dark with the dog leading the way. Paddling on the sea.Older teens that wanted to watch the sunset, in the company of myself and our dog.. the same 2 who got up at 5am to see the sunrise. Having a cosy place to stay and base ourselves gave us freedom to do a bit of everything on foot. Cottage big enough for 3 of us plus proud greyhound, who adored the cottage and the location- an anxious girl she was truly at home here. Super clean, tidy and with all we needed; perfect. We found food places, quirky shops, lots of ice cream and clean beaches and sea. Lost in time but equally more real and rugged than anywhere else. Kind helpful hosts and team that made our last minute stay easy and hassle free. We will be back and bring hubby too! Thank you to the team that make this happen - your care for your guests, holiday home and the location has truly left us with peaceful souls and memories to remember always.
We've visted RHB several times over the years & just love its unspoilt buety & atmosphere.
We enjoyed our stay in beautiful Robin Hoods Bay with all its quirky charm .The cottage is cosy and you cannot help but smile as it welcomes you with its bright yellow door , very in keeping for its address of “sunny”During our stay we walked to Whitby , getting a bus back , and a lovely walk along the coast to Whitby enjoying amazing views. We ate at the Bramblewick which we recommend , fish and chips and the Victoria which has revamped the garden making it an even better place to look over the bay with good food .
It's our go to place and Sam always provides the best accommodation at the best price.
Ive been coming to the Bay since I was a young Child im now 60 and still love it, its one of my favourite places you can just relax and switch off, No amusements no TVs in pubs it just takes you to bygone times
Lovely well situated in the tower bay, is Sunny Place Cottage. It's close to all shops, pubs, and beach and fisherhead parking. Fantastic friendly locals and dog friendly everywhere. We loved the quirkyness of the cottage and lovely fireplace in the living room and bedroom. The beach is dog friendly all year around which for us is a bonus having a crazy dally. As for Bay town Cottages we cannot say enough, Sam and Sian have a wonderful little business. Very hands on with questions and checking in while on your stay to make sure all ok.We have visit the bay about four times a year and always use Baytown Cottages. Thanks again for a lovely little business and couple.Love Julie and Shaun and Nelson the Dally
Lovely cottage in an ideal central location in the lower bay Definitely the cottage of choice for our next visit
Have been coming to the bay for a few years now ,( as a family of 10adults and 2 dogs we hired 2 cottages ) lots to do and weather a bonus , very dog friendly . Cottage .. nice and clean . As 4 adults we did find we couldn’t use the table ( we know space is tight) Settee was more suited to 2 adults than 3 , which left 1 armchair ,and a small wooden chair , we didn’t spend a lot of time in the cottage so we managed but would say more suited to 2 adults 2 children , saying that we had a wonderful time and the bedrooms ,kitchen , bathroom were nice , Robin hoods bays never fails to disappoint . And the booking process is spot on . Thankyou .
We had a great time in Robin Hoods Bay staying at the cosy 5 Sunny Place. The owners were very helpfully and the cottage was in a great location.Robin Hoods Bay is a beautiful place with lovely beach full off rockpools and handy to visit Whitby which is another great place but gets very busy so returning to the more tranquil Robin Hoods bay after exploring the shops and interesting sites of Whitby was perfect.
Robin Hood Bay is such a beautiful place to visit, we never get bored of going. Our cottage this time was cosy and easy to access , right in the heart of the lower part. First time visiting in August and the tide times were ideal for walking along the coast during the day. First time we ate at The Old Post Office, atmosphere, music and bacon sandwich were fab, well worth a visit. The cottage has everything you need, stairs a little steep so be careful booking if you struggle with stairs. Everything went smooth, instructions were spot on, information supplied ideal. Cottage was nice and clean.
Real home from home and the location was amazing. Would love to come back.
Perfect cottage. Thank you. Will be back.
What can I say. Always a pleasure to stay at a Baytown cottage. We've stayed in the Bay with them multiple times and always had a great time. Sam can't do too much to help when needed.Sunny Place is in an ideal location just off the main road down to the harbour and two minutes from the beach. It is cosy and well laid out. We'd definitely stay there again but we're back in September to stay at Cosy Cottage, once again with Baytown!! We had a great time.
Sunny Place is lovely warm cottage that has been recently refurbished with a new open plan kitchen with new appliances. The cottage has new carpets, light fittings and comfortable seating which blends in well with the old features like the wonderful stone fireplace and chimney. The bedrooms are light and airy with comfortable beds. The bathroom has a bath and an easy to use shower. The cottage is set back from Chapel Street and offers easy access from the set down spot outside Muir Lea stores 50m away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as did our dog and we will definitely be coming back to Sunny Place.
We really enjoyed our weekend, the sub zero weather just added to it. The cottage was lovely and warm and beautifully decorated. Sam was great too, giving us a heads up on the icy conditions and checking we had got there okay. Lovely to be back in RHB.
