Dog Friendly Shops:

It may surprise you to know many of the shops in Robin Hood’s Bay are dog friendly. It may also surprise you to know we have our very own dog shop dedicated to our canine best friends. That shop is:

Paws of Robin Hood’s Bay

So, the pooch can do a little bit of their own souvenir shopping. Also, if you have forgotten the doggy essentials Paws are sure to have what you need.

Well, we did tell you Robin Hood’s Bay is a dog’s paradise and we haven’t got to the beach yet.

Further afield you will find the Fuzzy Dog Bakery in Whitby just 6 miles from Robin Hood’s Bay.

Throughout the North York Moors National Park are dog friendly shops and most will display a sign to let you know your pooch is welcome.

Dog Walks:

There are so many walks to be had here in Robin Hood’s Bay and not just along our fabulous beach.

The Cinder Track is the old railway line that ran from Whitby to Scarborough. It spans 21 miles along coastal sections, wooded areas, moorland and villages.

The Cleveland Way is a 109-mile walk in total starting inland at Helmsley and finishing in Filey. The Cleveland Way takes in Towns, Villages, landmarks, heritage, heather moorland and the most dramatic coastline. Your pooch will need a good head for heights for this one and a good level of fitness.

Fylingdales Moor is the backdrop of Robin Hood’s Bay. A major breeding ground for birds please do keep your dogs on leads particularly in breeding season.

Sneaton Forest which is 5 miles away is a lovely woodland walk with your pooch and you are sure to meet lots of other furry friends along the way especially during the months that Falling Foss Tea Garden is open.

The North York Moors National Park is home to a whole host of walks that both you and your beloved pet can enjoy. Some of our favourites are:

The Rail Trail which follows the old railway line from Beckhole to Grosmont.

Mulgrave Woods at Sandsend, Whitby which is home to the Old Mulgrave Castle. Open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Closed throughout May. Dog’s must be kept on leads throughout.

There may be times when you are coming to Robin Hood’s Bay for a special occasion and must attend minus your beloved pooch but the Terms and Conditions of renting a Baytown Holiday Cottage stipulate that pets must not be left on their own in the cottage. You don’t want to leave the pooch at home for the sake of one day, but you can’t leave them while you celebrate or party your day or night away. What to do? We may just have the answer. Happy Hounds Pet Service.

Happy Hounds Pet Service offer full Dog Boarding and Dog Walking services. A passionate team that loves what they do and provide your pooch with a home from home service.
