Robin Hood’s Bay might not be the first place that springs to mind when it comes to a spot of retail therapy. Let us change your mind.

Robin Hood’s Bay is full of wonderful gifts small or large for yourself, a loved one, the little and big ones. You will even find gits for the pooch.

So, what wonderful goods do the quirky, cute shops of Robin Hood’s Bay hold we hear you ask? Well let us tell you:

Barnards Butchers

Everything that it says on the tin you will also find the most amazing homemade bread. In the late Autumn and Winter months you’ll find proper Winter grub like Beef Stew and Dumplings. You may also be delighted to know that Barnards also do Takeaway to collect. Pizza, Garlic Breads, Burgers and Meat Dishes. Not strictly retail therapy but you will be glad we listed this one. When you’re holed up in your cottage for the night and you can’t be bothered to cook, perfect. Holiday bacon sarnies, perfect.

Thorpe Stores

A general store you’ll find all the essentials including wood for the fire. You may also find local produce and souvenirs.

Station Road Stores

A general store Station Road Stores is also home to the local Post Office and Baytown Beers no less. Baytown Beers offer a selection of Spirits, Port, Lager and Cider amongst others. Station Road stores also stocks souvenirs, Baytown Coffee and a range of Jess Hogarth’s Cards, Prints, Tea Towels, Coasters and more.

The Old Drapery

A cute little clothing store packed full of lovely treats. The Old Drapery not only sells the essential items you may need if the weather changes for better or worse. If you forgot your walking boots or wellies or you’ve been caught short without a coat the Old Drapery is the shop for you. The Old Drapery also sells a lovely ever-changing collection of fashion items. His, Her’s and the little ones are all are all catered for.

Muir Lea Stores

Just like Sam’s Muir Lea Stores their main store sells all the holiday beach essentials along with items suitable for any change in weather. A general store you will also find lots of souvenirs, local history books and lots of local produce.

Bay Fisheries

Not strictly retail therapy more satisfying a craving. Serves delicious fresh and cooked fish and shellfish items. You can also pick up bait for crabbing.

An Aladdin’s Cave of a book shop who knows what treasures you will find whilst you rummage through the rows of books.

Berties of Bay Heritage Clothing

Housed in the former Old Bakery Berties lifestyle store offers homemade cake, tea and coffee to purchase while you browse their own branded range of Heritage clothing. The collection includes the famous Berties Beanie, Gansey Range, Work Jacket and Smock amongst other items.

Treat Therapy

Treat Therapy not only offers the most relaxing of holistic treatments and packages it is also the cutest little gift shop. Packed full of gorgeous seaside themed small trinkets to larger household items. You will also find cards, candles and beauty products.

Browns Confectionary & Sweet Shop

As well as your staple traditional sweet shop items lining the shelves you will also find a little bit of luxury. Browns sells luxury handmade chocolates and truffles; you will also find a luxury chocolate fountain. Perfect for the sweet tooth.

The Toy Shop

This little gem is perfect for Mum’s, Dad’s. Little ones and parents to be. The Toy Shop sells the most gorgeous range of children’s wooden toys, crochet and woollen teddies, picnic baskets, teething jewellery and so, so much more. Yorkshire Coast Dinosaur Fossil Museum

Not a museum in the traditional sense this is definitely one for the Fossil or Dinosaur enthusiast. You will also find a range of books for sale in amongst the Fossils. A wannabe Palaeontologists Aladdin’s Cave.

Dolly’s Sweet Shop

Chocked full to the rafters of tasty treats. All your old sweet shop favourites, all the modern treats and Beacon Farm Ice-cream. You will also find a range of gifts and who could forget the must have seaside sticks of Rock. You are also able to pick up fishing nets and buckets at Dolly’s Sweet Shop

The Old Coastguard Station

Part of the National Trust this little Visitor Centre is home to a Rock Pool Tank, interactive displays including geology, the tides, wildlife and village history.

There is also a National Trust Gift Shop.

It is here you will also find the #2minutebeachclean board.

Antique Shop

Tucked up on King Street is where the Antique Shop resides. A Treasure Chest of Antiques large and small who knows what you will find hidden in the depths of this little gem.
