Since our last update we have re-evaluated “Our Approach” to the current uncertain situation.
We are now strongly urging all visitors to Robin Hood’s Bay to please “STAY HOME”. We fully understand that deferring or cancelling your much looked forward to stay in Robin Hood’s Bay is heart-breaking. Please do understand that these are extreme circumstances which require extreme measures.
Robin Hood’s Bay is now shutting down for the foreseeable. Until it is safe to reopen again, who knows when. There will be no shops, cafes, takeaways, tearooms, restaurants, pubs or attractions open. The exception may be general stores within government guidelines, after all Robin Hood’s Bay is home to many residents. Some of which fall into the at risk and vulnerable categories.
We have reached an agreement with all the cottage owners that we work with. We have deferred or cancelled any bookings that occur in the next 14 days (from today 22nd March 2020). We will monitor the situation and continue to defer or cancel bookings on a daily basis. You will not be able to book a Holiday Cottage with us for the month of April, but you may book for other times In the year. We do ask that you are sensible about this and maybe look at the latter half of the year. We will also be monitoring this daily and it is more than likely that this period will be extended possibly into May or June. All deferrals and cancelations will be dealt with sympathetically and individually.
If you do have a booking with us in the coming months of April, May and June, please do not panic. We will be in touch to keep you updated in the forth coming weeks as and when it is required.
If you have any questions or concerns please, please do contact us either by email or telephone.
We will not be charging an admin fee or as it states in our Terms & Conditions retaining any commission for admin purposes in any deferral or cancellation during this time. These are unusual and unsettling times for all of us. We do not feel it appropriate to gain in a situation that has not been caused by any one person.
We value your business and support as a small family business of two. We like many of our fellow Robin Hood’s Bay businesses will stand to earn very little if anything at all during this time. This is not of importance. The safety and well-being of you our guests, your families, the people that service the holiday cottages you stay in, our local community and finally us is paramount. Not money.
It is so important to both of us at Baytown Holiday Cottages that you our guests get the full value of Robin Hood’s Bay when you visit. We want you to come to Robin Hood’s Bay and see a thriving happy village. To enjoy every little aspect that makes Robin Hood’s Bay the wonderful little village that it is. So, when this is all over. When it is safe to return to some way of normality Baytown Holiday Cottages and Robin Hood’s Bay look forward to welcoming you.
Until then, please stay safe, be sensible and take care.
To our valued customers and cottage owners thank you for your continued support and understanding. We hope to see you in happier more settled times.
