Scarborough Open Air Theatre
Just 15 miles south of Robin Hood’s Bay you will find the Scarborough Open Air Theatre (SOAT). During the months of June, July and August SOAT is host to some of the biggest names in music with past guests including:
Jess Glynne ….
To name just a few.
With a selection of music to suit every musical taste this is a venue for all music lovers. SOAT really is quite an intimate venue considering its seating and standing capacity is a total of approximately 8000.
Of all the venues we at Baytown Holiday Cottages have been to SOAT is by far our favourite for ease of access and leaving as the night closes. Like any venue you will have any bags and tickets checked then you’re quite literally in. You’ll find several Bars and Food Stalls at either end of the venue at standing level and another bar above and behind the seating blocks. You will also find toilet blocks of portaloos at either end also. The beauty of this is no matter where you are stood in a que you can hear and from most points if not all see the stage and your act of choice.
What is not to love about this venue as not only is it shaping up to be a pretty darn good one it also boasts great acoustics.
You will find parking close to the venue, for those who have chosen to stay in a Baytown Holiday Cottage in Robin Hood’s Bay we would suggest parking on the carparks between Alpamare Waterpark and Scalby Mill as the road will be closed immedietley outside the exit of the venue once the show has finished.
Prefer to take a taxi we would advise pre booking. Price per person starts from approximately £10 one way based on full capacity.
